Privacy Policy
This policy covers Alfee — the website at alfee.mandalivia.com and the Alfee mobile app for iOS. Together they are a single product, and this is its single privacy policy.
What Alfee does
Alfee offers practice exercises for people with aphasia rebuilding language skills, often after a stroke or brain injury. Exercises run in your browser, or inside an embedded browser view in the mobile app.
What we collect
- No accounts. Alfee doesn't ask you to sign up or log in.
- No session content. We don't store which words you got right, how long you played, or anything you typed or spoke during a game.
- Anonymous usage analytics, on the website only. The website uses Umami, a privacy-respecting analytics tool, to count page views and understand which exercises people use. Umami doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you across sites, and doesn't store your IP address. The iOS app does not load analytics — it tells the website it's running inside the app, and the website skips the analytics script. The mobile app sends nothing to any analytics service.
- Preferences, stored locally. Your language and accessibility settings are saved on
your device —
localStoragein the browser,AsyncStorageon mobile. They never leave your device.
Permissions
The Alfee mobile app requests no special device permissions in this release. No location, no microphone, no contacts, no photos.
Speech synthesis
Some Alfee games speak words aloud using your browser or operating system's built-in speech synthesis. Depending on the browser and OS, this audio may be generated on your device or through a cloud service provided by your browser or OS vendor. Alfee itself does not transmit the words anywhere; the speech synthesis is handled by your browser or device.
Children
Alfee is designed for adults rebuilding language skills, often after stroke or brain injury. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and note significant changes on the site.
